SSC CHSL 2022 Tier - 1 Exam Pattern

The SSC CHSL 2022 Tier 1 exam pattern is the same as before, therefore, there are no changes on the Exam pattern. In the SSC CHSL 2022 Tier 1 exam, there will be four sections such as Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, General Intelligence & English language.

Each section has 25 questions and there are a total number of 100 questions in the SSC CHSL Tier 1 2022 exam. Each question will be of 2 marks, and total marks will be 200 in the Tier 1 SSC CHSL exam 2022.

Keep in mind, the marks obtained by students in SSC CHSL Tier 1 will not be considered for the final selection, but students must score the minimum qualifying marks in order to appear in the Tier 2 exam.

The computer knowledge section is only qualifying in nature.

One mark will be detected for every wrong answer marked in section -1, section - II, and Module - I of section - III.

The skill test / Typing test is also qualifying in nature.

Based on aggregate performance in section - 1, and section - II of Tier - 2 exam, candidates will be shortlisted for section - III of Tier - 2 exam. The candidates who are not qualified in Section - 1, plus section - II will not be eligible for evaluation of section - III and they will not be considered for further selection process in SSC CHSL.

It will be mandatory for the candidates to qualify for all Tier-II sections.

Part A - Skill Test for the post of DEO / DEO Grade 'A’: ‘Data Entry Speed of 8,000 (Eight Thousand) Key Depressions per hour on Computer’ will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words/ key depressions as per the given passage.

Part B - Typing Test for other posts i.e. LDC/ JSA: Candidates opting for English medium should have a typing speed of 35 words per minute (w.p.m.) and those opting for Hindi medium should have typing speed of 30 words per minute (w.p.m.). 35 w.p.m. and 30 w.p.m. correspond to about 10500 key depressions per hour and about 9000 key depressions per hour respectively.

There are four section in SSC CHSL exami.e. General Awareness, Reasoning/General Intelligence, English language (Basic knowledge), and Quantitative aptitude (Basic arithmetic skill).

The number of questions in each section are 25 having 2 marks each, so maximum marks are 50 for each section and the total will be 200 marks, Candidates will get 60 minutes to complete the SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam (80 minutes for PwD candidates).

A candidate should have a data entry speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour

The duration for the Data Entry operator test is 15 Minutes and an English document having about 2000-2200 strokes/key-depressions is given to type.

SSC CHSL Skill Test for the Post of DEO in the Office of the C&AG.

The ‘speed of 15000 key depressions per hour will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words/key depressions as per the given passage.

The duration of the test will be for 15 minutes and printed matter in English containing about 3700-4000 key-depressions would be given to each candidate who would enter the same in the test computer.

SSC CHSL Skill Test for the Post of LDS/JAS and PA/SA

LDS stand for Lower Division Clerk, and JSA stand for Junior Secretariat Assistant. While PA stand for Postal Assistants and JSA stand for Sorting Assistants.

In this test, The speed of 10500 key depressions per hour will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words/key depressions as per the given passage.

The duration of the test will be for 15 minutes and printed matter in English containing about 9000 key-depressions/hour would be given to each candidate who would enter the same in the test computer.
