List of Presidents of India PDF: The President of India serves

Citizen. Since India gained its independence, 15 individuals have held
the position of President (as of August 2022), with the electoral

Eligibility for Appointment of President.
According to Article 58 of the Constitution of India, to be
eligible for appointment as President, a person must:
- Be a citizen of India.
- Be at least 35 years old.

Be qualified to become a member of the Lok Sabha the lower
house of the Indian Parliament.
It is important to note that the presidential candidates will be
disqualified if he/she holds an office of profit under the Government
of India or the State Government.
Tenure of the President of India
The President of India is elected to a term of five years in office,
and may be re-elected for a maximum of two terms. After completing
their term or in case of death or resignation, the Vice President of
India assumes the role of acting President until a new President is
elected.
